The Hay B&S Ball returned in 2012 in Hay, NSW after a 15-year hiatus. More than 900 people turned out for the return ball, with numbers staying steady for the following two years. A whopping 1450 people partied on at the 2015 Hay B&S.
A new feature of the B&S in 2013 was the inclusion of ballgoers in a parade through town held by the Mini Nationals and vanguards. A number of utes joined the parade up and down the main street and were warmly welcomed by those lining the streets to watch. This has become part of the tradition of the June long weekend event.
The Hay B&S Ball is run by the Hay Magpies Rugby League Football Club as the major annual fundraiser to help keep grassroots footy alive in a proud family club that was established in 1936. Find out more about the Magpies in the Contact Us section.
